Dr. Rick Gamble is Professor of Systematic Theology at the Reformed Presbyterian
Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to coming to RPTS, Dr. Gamble was Professor of Systematic Theology and Department Chair at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL, from 1997 to 2005. Dr. Gamble also served as the Adjunct Professor of Theology, Akademie für Reformitorische Theologie, Marburg, Germany, and Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster (PA) and Calvin Theological Seminary.
Dr. Gamble is a graduate of Westminster College (B.A., 1976) and Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary (M.A., 1978), and he received his Ph.D. from the Universität Basel, Switzerland, in 1983.
Dr. Gamble is an internationally renowned Calvin scholar and was the editor of the 14-volume anthology, Articles on Calvin and Calvinism, and was contributing editor to Eerdmans’ Calvin's Old Testament Commentaries. Dr. Gamble has nearly completed a massive, two-volume critical edition of Calvin’s Latin commentary on Genesis that will be published in Geneva. His book, Calvin and the Church, will be published as well. Dr. Gamble has a contract with P & R Publishing for a three-volume systematic theology entitled, The Whole Counsel of God. The first volume appeared in the summer of 2009.
Dr. Gamble is past president of the Calvin Studies Society and a member of the Editorial Board of The Peter Martyr Library. He also served as the director of the Henry Meeter Center for Calvin Studies at Calvin Theological Seminary (1987-97).
